quick everything

since march 31, it's been "quick everything" for me...

quick shortened pregnancy of just 35 weeks. (oh. except for the labor part. let's not go there...)

quick recovery from CS.  (was up & about in less than 12 hours.  i refused to use a bedpan after those agonizing hours in the delivery room!)

quick meals (at the start, it was due to loss of appetite.  now, it's just because there's no time.  why is it that when i start to sit down & eat, rauf fusses & then wakes up??? must it be because he was used to eating with me for 8 months?  hehehe...)

quick forays outside the house.  (okay. just once. when i went to st. luke's yesterday for my check-up.  couldn't resist NOT texting mommy to check up on rauf.  hehe.)

quick banyo time (no yaya yet, just mommy helping us out.  hence, it's me & rauf, one on one.)

quick weight loss (oh yessss!!! i am now at 118lbs, from my pre-delivery weight of 138lbs.  and only in two, yes two, weeks!)

and most of all,

quick internet time (hence, this very short blog.)

maybe in a month or so, i'll be getting the hang of things, be less obsessive-compulsive about rauf, and be more efficient in my time management.

otherwise, spontaneity is currently the name of the game :)

fast forward to motherhood

after almost 33 hours of being in bed no. 2 of the st. luke's delivery room, i gave birth last april 1 at 35 weeks.  had to go through a c-section because my cervix refused to fully dilate.  (duh... wasn't due for 5 more weeks!)

seeing baby rauf (pronounced ra-OOF) makes everything worth all the moans, groans, sweat & tears.

BUT i swear i will not go through that harrowing experience ever again.

(erase harrowing experience here lest i scare all my single female friends)

my baby is still being kept under close watch at the st. luke's nursery for infections and other complications he got due to prematurity.  but thank God he's strong enough not to need to be placed inside an isolette/incubator.  despite my own need for rest, i am prepping myself for the daily visits to the nursery to breastfeed him.

and so the path to motherhood has begun.  wish me luck.
